It’s been almost a month since I’ve been actively involved in the NFT community — not only on Algorand but also in Ethereum/Opensea. It turns out that many different chains have their own robust NFT communities.

My NFT journey started with @DegenToonz (on Ethereum) which I minted three pieces at 0.06e each. This turned out to be a great investment as I was able to flip all three pieces and make a profit close to 2e. That was more than a 30x gain in a matter of weeks! I was aware of big projects such as BAYC and how their jpegs were absurdly priced, but after experiencing it firsthand, I immediately understood the FOMO and culture behind NFTs.

I compared the NFT market akin to the old ICO boom where I assumed that it’s almost impossible to lose money as long as I got whitelisted and minted hyped projects at low cost. This proved to be wrong as the subsequent projects that I invested in turned out to be mediocre at best (Feline Fiendz, Kama Chameleons, DentedFeels etc). After hours of research and paying hundreds of dollars in gas fees, Algorand caught my interest.

I was always bullish and I had already over 10K in $algo. I soon found out that transaction costs on Algorand were fixed at 0.001A and that they also had a very robust NFT community. Algorand’s blue-chip NFT projects were (and still is) Al Goanna and M.N.G.O which exponentially grew in popularity (and in floor price) as the chain became more and more prominent. There were other very popular projects such as the Elite Apes and Little Freak Club but Crazy Goose Flock (CGF) piqued my interest.

I had just missed its shuffle (a fair way of distributing NFTs among the buyers at mint price) and the geese was being listed on secondary markets (Rand Gallery and AlgoxNFT). I was confident that this would become the next blue-chip in the Algorand NFT scene because first of all, I LOVED the art and secondarily I loved the vibe in the community/Discord. Currently, I have 8 CGF pieces in total — some are quite rare and some were bought for charity.

Crazy Goose Flock #844 that I won in an auction. All proceedings were donated to Ukraine. Notice the Yellow-Blue color scheme which depicts the Ukraine Flag + the peace tattoo! The Algorand community is very selfless and giving.

Crazy Goose Flock has been consistently on the “Popular Collection” list on Rand Gallery with a floor price of 38A. It is very likely (please DYOR and visit the Discord) that Ventral, the founder of CGF, will come up with ideas such as Generation 2 projects that will drastically bring the value and demand of these geese over time. This strategy has been proven with projects such as BAYC and Al Goanna; I don’t see why CGF can’t do the same.

Although my predictions are unfounded and there are no official announcements (yet), I am very bullish and happy to be a holder and supporter of the CGF project. I’ve gone as far as to buy CGF merchandises for both me and my wife :)

I think Crazy Goose Flock will definitely become a blue-chip NFT project on Algorand and it’s the perfect time to build your portfolio; the floor price won’t stay low for so long.

The Algorand NFT community is full of very generous and kind people that even if the projects that I invest in don’t do well, I would be content. It really is the friends that you make along the journey that matters the most.
